Mr. Walter Cazalas, a native Mobilian, came to Cottage Hill Christian Academy in 1998 from Colegio Binimea in Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico, where he and his wife (Cindy Daniels Cazalas), who with their four children had been serving as full-time foreign missionaries since 1987. Mr. Cazalas has degrees in Bible, Emergency Medical Services – NREMT-P (Paramedic), and Intercultural Communications. While visiting from Mexico, Cottage Hill Baptist Church requested that the Cazalas family return from Mexico to a stateside ministry at CHBC which would help start the High School and initiate the Spanish Courses for 9th– 12thGrades.
Walter was privileged to serve on CHBC staff in numerous positions through 2003 and then as bilingual chaplain for the Mobile Bay Bears for three years while continuing to teach at CHCA.
The Cottage Hill Conservatory of Music was officially formed in 1998. The Conservatory has planted four other “church music schools” in south Alabama. The Conservatory just celebrated its 20thAnniversary. Walter is a member of the Nashville Christian Songwriters Association and an alumnus of their programs.
Walter and Cindy currently attend Spring Hill Baptist Church, where he teaches Sunday School and has the blessing of occasionally working with the Praise Team and Children’s Ministries.
Walter and Cindy’s four adult children are each involved in church and local ministries as well as providing them with five grandchildren.
